Kwara Speaker emphasises importance of synergy between KWHA, NASS contingents

The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu has again, sued for synergy among legislators from the Kwara North Senatorial district in the interest of the development of District and its people.
The lawmaker made the call while hosting the Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly - Pharm. Sadiq Umar in Gwanara, Baruten local government of the State, according to a statement by Special Assistant, Media to Kwara state Speaker, Ibrahim Sheriff.
Danladi-Salihu, while welcoming the Senator to his country home - Gwanara, extolled the Senator's grassroot styled representation, characterized by keeping touch with constituents across various districts of the 5 local governments of Kwara North, describing it as unprecedented in the history of the district.
"I want to sincerely, on behalf of our people, thank you for always keeping in touch and particularly, for your intervention which saw National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) assisting people of Gwanara Emirate affected by rainstorm, while urging you as our Senator to galvanize our representatives at the National Assembly towards forging a common front.
"We have numerous challenges which you know and I am sure our people will seize opportunity of your visit to restate. I implore you to ensure strong synergy between federal legislators of Kwara North. We must put behind our differences for the prime interest of our district and its people considering enormous developmental challenges facing us", Danladi said.
The Speaker also charged Sen. Umar to ensure Federal Government College of Science and Technology, Gwanara is accommodated in the 2021 appropriation of the Federal Government.
In his response, Sen. Sadiq said he is working tirelessly and enjoys the Kwara state Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Speaker Danladi Salihu's support towards realization of the College, noting that he is comfortable with integrated synergy with State Assembly members and will work to further stimulate same among Kwara North representatives.
He said "Projects like Gwanara Primary Health Centre is provided for in the 2020 budget as intervention and I have been able to facilitate industrial boreholes to Baruten. 2019 spill over projects were to be executed but funding has been major problem for the Federal Government, couple with the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic.
"I remain connected with the grassroot because I am product of the people and as a Senator committed to participatory democracy, I have resolved to always engage the people who are my check and balance to ensure I continue to work in their interest", Umar added.
The Gwanara youths' representative - Yunusa Sabi Salihu, appreciated the Senator for not forsaking the people of Gwanara, while urging him to make concerted efforts at ensuring Gwanara Emirate feels impact of Federal Government in terms of infrastructure, youth employment and sustainable empowerment.
