Ramadan: Kwara Speaker tasks Muslims
Following the commencement of Ramadan, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has congratulated Muslim faithful, enjoining them to use the period to offer prayers for themselves and the nation at large.
Ahmad, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir, in Ilorin on Saturday further charged them to use the period to move closer to Allah by increasing their supplications.
He stated that the rewards and spiritual blessings in the month of Ramadan could not be quantified, noting that it equally provides opportunities for Muslims to right the wrongs in their lives.
The Speaker noted that whoever fasts, worships and perfoms other supplications as directed by Allah through Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is bound to have bountiful rewards from Allah in the glorious month.
Ahmad, however prayed Allah to grant every worshiper the required strength, sound health and other necessary things needed to observe the fasting successfully and accept the sacrifices as an act of Ibadah.
He also tasked Muslims in the Kwara state to use the opportunity to pray for sustenance of peace and harmony in the state, stressing that it would aid development and provide atmosphere for government to build on existing legacies.
