To this end, it has directed its Committee on Commerce, Cooperatives, Industries and Women Affairs to invite officials of the State Ministries of Industry and Solid Minerals, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development for insightful briefing on Corporate Social Responsibility of Companies in the state.

These followed a Motion on "Appraisal of Corporate Social Responsibility in the State" raised by a member representing Owode/ Onire Constituency of Asa local Government Hon Abdul Rasheed Taiwo Abdullahi at the floor of the House.

Reading the resolutions of the House, the Deputy Speaker Elder Mathew Okedare who presided over the sitting, said the current economic recession in the country, made it imperative for companies located in the State, to complement the State government in providing basic infrastructure for their host communities and directed the approximate Ministry to monitor its compliance.

Hon. Taiwo Abdullahi had while raising the motion, said among other things, that environmental laws and International Financial Standard mandated companies to play corporate social responsibility in their host communities and called on the affected companies to comply with the relevant laws in this regard.

Other Members who contributed on the motion, urged the House to domesticate relevant federal laws to ensure compliance, by the companies in the State.

Meanwhile, the House has commended the State government for ensuring the success of its verification exercise in which 8,863 ghost workers were detected.

This followed a Matter of General Public Importance raised by a member representing Edu Constituency, Hon Isiaku Aliyu Adams on the just concluded Verification exercise.

the Deputy Speaker, who recalled that the State government embarked on the exercise, following the resolutions of the House after its oversight to SUBEB and Primary Schools across the State, following a Matter of General Public Importance raised by a member representing Kaiama/ Kemanji/ Wajibe Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed.

The House equally urged the State government to empower the State Bureau of Statistics in carrying out its responsibility to ensure accurate data base in the State.

Other Members, who contributed on the Motion, noted among other things, that the State had saved over N45m monthly from the discovery and insisted that culprits should be brought to book.

They therefore urged the State government to always promptly implement the House resolutions to further enhance its performance.
