Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly in their Tuesday Plenary extolled the virtues of the House Leader and member representing Essa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency, Hon Hassan Oyeleke, who bagged Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) Honoris Causa of University Commonwealth London last Friday in Dubai.
Coming under a Matter of Urgent Public Importance, a member representing Oke-Ogun Constituency, Hon Kamaldeen Fagbemi, informed the House about how the House Leader was rated as the best Parliamentarian at the State level in Commonwealth Countries, which according to him, informed the decision of the University, to award him Doctor of Public Administration ( Honoris Causa).
In her contribution, the Deputy House Leader, Hon. Segilola Abdul Kadir, who described the honoree, as able, capable and performing leader, said he is popularly accepted by his people and members of the parliament in the State.
Members representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe and Ojomu/Balogun Constituencies, Hons. Ahmed Ibn Mohammed and Saheed Popoola noted with delight that Hon. Oyeleke started his political career early in life which enabled him to gather enough political experience that made him to become cynosure of all eyes in Commonwealth Countries.
Responding, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, while extolling the virtues of Hon. Oyeleke, observed with delight that members of the 8th Legislature were raising the bar of parliamentary democracy in the world.
Dr. Ahmad then enjoined youths in the State to emulate the sterling qualities of the House Leader, whom he described as an astute politician and legislator per excellence that has projected the image of Offa Community and the House to the outside world.
Reacting, the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, who dedicated the award to the House and Offa Community, eulogised the Speaker and other members of the 8th Assembly for their tremendous support, pointing out the quality of Bills and Resolutions passed by the legislature earned him the honour.
He, therefore, promised to rededicate himself towards serving the House and his Community better, pointing out that the award would serve as impetus to quality service delivery to the people of the State.
