As parts of his efforts to encourage youths in entrepreneurship, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad on Friday presented a 10 KVA generator worth Two Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira (N280, 000) to Mr. Tunde Sanni, a Laundry Man operating at Taiwo Isale in Ilorin.

The gesture, according to the Speaker is to reduce the hardship usually experienced by the beneficiary as a result of epileptic power supply, which has been affecting his business.

Ahmad while presenting the generator also promised to assist the beneficiary in assessing Small and Medium Enterprises loan from the state government to enable him expand his business.

The Speaker explained that Sanni has been into another business before now but failed, hence the need to support him to rise again and also pledged to stand as Guarantor for the beneficiary in any commercial bank that would guarantee him a loan.

He noted that he was compelled to provide assistance to him as a way of encouraging the youths to be self- sufficient and employer of labour rather than searching endlessly for non-existent white collar jobs.

Similarly, he challenged youths to always look inward as there are various opportunities they could tap from to be dependent.

Responding, the beneficiary, Tunde Sanni thanked the legislator for the gesture, saying that it would undoubtedly boost his business and prayed Allah in His infinite mercy to further enrich the Speaker's purse.

Sanni lamented that his business has suffered a great due to power supply failure, which he said had forced several people out of their different businesses.

He, however called on public office holders to endeavour to assist youths in their various capacities as it would go a long way to ease tension on youth searching for white collar jobs.
