 Extend KWARTMA services to other parts of the State, KWHA charges KWSG

The Kwara State Government has been urged to recruit more personnel for the State Road Traffic Management Agency, to enable it extend its Services to other major towns and Cities in the State.

  This is part of the resolutions of the State House of Assembly, while considering a Motion on " Extending the Services of the State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) to other major Towns  in the State".

   Reading the resolutions of the House, the Deputy Speaker, Elder Mathew Okedare, who presided over the sitting ,said the services of KWARTMA was strategic in the prevention of crime and checking flagrant disobedience to traffic regulations, which he said had led to attendant loss of lives and property.

  The Legislature equally called on the State government to put necessary machinery in place to fast track the extension of services of the agency to other congested Cities in the State.

    It then praised the State government for ensuring prompt release of its monthly subvention, which the House noted had enhance its performance.

   A Member representing Ilorin North West Constituency, Hon. Abdul Rafiu Abdul Rahman had while raising the Motion, said the services of the Agency of restoring the culture of discipline, sanity on roads, reduction of  carnage on roads were strategic, in view of the influx of people to the State and emphasized the need for the State government to ensure the extension of its services to other parts of the State.

     Other Members who spoke on the Motion, emphasized the significance of the Agency in other parts of the State, noting that, it would equally boast employment opportunity and enhance the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.
