Kwara Deputy Speaker provides N7m water project for Constituents

The Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Mathew Okedare at the weekend commissioned 5 motorised boreholes worth N7 million he provided for the people of his Constituency, Lanwa/Ejidongari in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The gesture, which is a continuation of the deputy speaker’s efforts to provide drinkable water supply for the people of his constituency, saw Sabo-Ngida, Onipako, Sogunro and New Jebba area communities benefited from the motorized boreholes.

Addressing the benefitting communities, Okedare said the gesture was borne out of his great desire to provide succour for the people, particularly to end their difficulty in having access to drinkable water supply.

The legislator added that he realised that state and local government could not provide everything for the citizenry but required the support of some individuals, stressing that he was inspired to provide the motorised boreholes due to his belief in giving back to the society.

The lawmaker noted that Moro Local Government lacked some basic amenities and infrastructural facilities that would further improve the people’s wellbeing, pledging to use his position to further bring government closer to the people with a view to address their needs.

While appreciating his Constituents for their cooperation, support and loyalty to the ruling party, Okedare enjoined them to continue supporting the present administration.

Also speaking, the APC Kwara North Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Oniwa commended the lawmaker’s gesture and described him as a credible and worthy Ambassador of Moro Local Government, not only his Constituency, Lanwa/Ejidongari.

Oniwa, who said that the deputy speaker has not disappointed his Constituency, however challenged other public office holders to emulate his gesture.

Responding, the Seriki Sabo-Ngida, Alhaji Umar Magudu while appreciating the lawmaker’s gesture promised to continue their unalloyed support for the present administration.
